About Manila Oriental Market
Manila Oriental Market is one of the asian grocery stores listed in San Jose, California. The business is registered at 2812 S White Rd, San Jose, CA 95148; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as supermarket, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8:30 amβ7:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (408) 414-9000. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
With 3.9 out of 5 on Google from 581 reviews, it sits in the middle of the range for asian grocery stores in San Jose. Recent reviews are the best guide.
San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Jose is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Cashier rude. They are cheaters. I bought in July 21st. 2 cantaloupe and one sink strainer. Total amount was $6.89. Usually y I never take the receipt. On that they I told the the lady cashier to throw the receipt. She threw away the receipt. The sink strainer did not fit. I went to return the sink strainer to the same cashier .She asked for receipt. I said you threw away the receipt. She She member but still she need the receipt. I talked to the manager or may she was I charge. She also instead for receipt. I explained to her and she questioned the cashier . The cashier said he did not need receipt so she threw away. I showed her to the manager that I havr record in my bank credit card statement charge of $6.89 . But the said she still need the receipt. Thay do not follow American system. In walmart or other stores they just check credit card record of payment. So $ 2.59. Not a big deal for me. But it is cheating. I will call the bank to stop this payment. This is for kind attention of public to be careful such stores.

For a grocery store that caters to the Asian community, itβs pretty good. Decent size and wide selection, including a fresh seafood section.

They have good service, as well as decent speed having more lanes open when more customers shop they have not too long ago rearranged the placing of stuff to have more room in between the aisle, they have decent selection of Asian products. The vegetables they sell are cheap at certain times, but this place had a tendency to leave expired products that are mostly the packed goods not anything else it seems Probably due to them being a bit less careful in checking the packed goods due to the long time they can stay on shelves I see expired packaged goods, once every few months. Which isn't a lot just something I noticed that seems to be of importance. Restrooms are free to customers.

A surprisingly neighborhood market. It is full of hard to find Asian ingredients. The produce section is one of the best and offers a wide selection of fruit you will never see at Safeway or Lucky stores. Like durian, rambutan, and lychee. The seafood section is outrageous. My wife is from the Philippines and she loves this place. She is able to find fish here that is the same from her home country. Please give M.O.M. a try.

Here's to giving Five Stars to an old achool Asian supermarket. All the sights, smells, and sounds I got used to as a first generation (second generation?) as a child growing up in the Los Angeles area being taken to go grocery shopping weekly by my parents. It's all here. Enjoy while these places still exist!
